Well-characterized and accelerated process development and optimization can be achieved only if the process can be sufficiently automated in a parallel miniaturised platform that is both easy to set up, scalable, and compatible with disposable technologies. So there is a need to move away from traditional bioprocess equipment and into a platform that enables high-throughput process development and optimization. That type of technology should have three key characteristics:
• miniaturization to enable faster experimental throughput at a low costs
• automation for accurate, reproducible performance of a large number of individual operations
• parallel processing to allow evaluation of a wide experimental space, resulting in process understanding.
Here I present an automated mini bioreactor technology that allows for high-throughput process development and optimization for both microbial fermentations and cell culture processes. In addition, I demonstrate the suitability of this technology by analyzing data obtained from an automated bioreactor and comparing data from laboratory- and pilot-scale bioreactors.

Replenishment control: Standard 1-way peristaltic pump time proportional flow replenishment, flow replenishment cumulative display and record.
Defoaming mode: conductive foam electrode, automatic alarm for abnormal foam condition; standard 1 way peristaltic pump automatic / manual flow adding defoamer, cumulative volume display and record.
Control system: Siemens PLC controller real color plus touch screen, complete functions, stable operation.
Sterilization mode: in place sterilization, manual control.
Equipment features: in place sterilization, safe and reliable, no transmission leakage risk; large viewing angle longitudinal mirror observation is clear; inoculation methods are various and reliable (standard flame inoculation port, differential pressure inoculation port and other forms are optional); floor type tank is beautiful and generous; operation and disassembly are easy; special specifications can be customized.
Polishing is vital for tanks. Tanks should be polished wholly inside and outside.
Therefore it can ensure there is no place for the bacteria to hide in tanks.
Our polishing system consists of auto and semi-auto polishing machine and manual polishing.
Each tank is polished three times and more polish for the key place.
